Gardner-Webb University
Located in Boiling Springs, this 4 year private university is affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. They have 13 academic departments and offer 45 majors. The main campus is located 40 miles west of Charlotte on nearly 200 acres. Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs are offered.

Belmont Abbey College
Belmont Abbey is a private, Catholic college located 15 miles west of Charlotte in the small town of Belmont. Founded in 1876 by Benedictine monks, the school is affiliated with the Order of Saint Benedict and the Roman Catholic Church.

Davidson College
Davidson is a small, private liberal arts school that was established by the Presbyterians in 1837. This distinguished school has graduated 23 Rhodes Scholars and offers over 20 majors and several interdisciplinary options. Davidson consistently ranks in the top ten amongst liberal arts colleges in the country.

Queens University of Charlotte
Queens University of Charlotte originally began as an all-female school when it opened in 1857. Today this private, Presbyterian affiliated university is located in the prestigious Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte and today is a co-ed school.

Pfeiffer University
A satellite of Pfeiffer University, whose main campus is located in Richfield, North Carolina, is located in Charlotte. This private university opened in 1977 and is a lovely, small university.

Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU)
Johnson C. Smith University is a private, historically black college, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Offering an assortment of degrees and academic programs, JCSU is located right in the heart of Charlotte NC and provides students a well rounded, four year liberal arts education.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-Charlotte)
UNC-Charlotte is a public, coeducational university that is one of the fastest growing schools in the entire University of North Carolina system. After opening in 1946, UNC-Charlotte has thrived on being a research based university and today has over 4 campuses located throughout the city of Charlotte.

Johnson & Wales – Charlotte
The Charlotte Campus of Johnson & Wales was established in 2004 and blends traditional and contemporary techniques, teaching students enrolled in the school’s various programs the culinary arts and hospitality.

Gaston College
Gaston College is a community college in Gastonia North Carolina, with three satellite locations in Dallas, Lincolnton, and Belmont. Each year Gaston College enrolls over 5,000 students each term, and assists over 16,000 students in the continuing education program with credits and specialized instruction. Known for its technological programs and wide array of vocational classes, Gaston College is one of the region’s finest community institutions.

Appalachian State University
Appalachian State University is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in the bustling town of Boone. This four year, public university is renowned for its excellent football team, teacher’s college, and exceptional beauty. In 2001, TIME magazine named the home of the mountaineers the “College of the Year” and in starting in 2005, Appalachian State University’s talented football team led the school to three national championships, garnering national attention.
