There are so many fun things to do when you live in Lincoln County NC, near Charlotte, Mooresville, Concord, Gastonia, and Hickory. No matter what type of entertainment you prefer, there is something for everyone to enjoy here. Everything from sports, to history, to shopping, to the arts and even outdoor recreation is available in the Charlotte Metropolitan region and our charming region of
Lincolnton NC. Due to our close proximity to Charlotte there is an abundance of interesting places, museums, galleries, and things to do in and around our area.
This region is home to many unique places, and one of these is the sprawling, Latta Plantation.
The Historic Latta Plantation, located in Huntersville, is a beautiful 1800's cotton plantation that truly brings history to life. Guided tours are given of the beautiful farmhouse and Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, and visitors learn more about the early settlers' way of life through interpretive historical characters. This is a great place to visit for the day! Woodhill Winery is located near Lincolnton in the small community of Vale, and is also a great place to tour or spend the
afternoon indulging.
 Outdoor lovers are at home
here too, as our piedmont region is home to some
incredible places to hike, bike, fish, raft, and canoe. Rafters and outdoor enthusiasts get a kick out of visiting Gaston County’s newest attraction, the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The center serves as a whitewater training facility and has been recognized officially by the United States Olympic Committee. Here rafters and kayakers can enjoy a full day of rafting on the multi-channel rapids that are formed by re-circulating water. The whitewater center covers a full 300 acres and is located along the Catawba River. Also within the center is a climbing center.
Sports fanatics are at home in Charlotte as well. The Queen City is home to several sports teams including the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Bobcats, Charlotte Knights, and the NASCAR Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Also, the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame is also located nearby in Mooresville.
Do you love to shop until you drop? Shoppers love living so close to all of the great options the Metrolina provides. Lincolnton is very close to shopping centers like Concord Mills in Concord, South Park Mall in South Charlotte, Carolina Place in Pineville, and Eastridge Mall in Gastonia. There are several boutiques and outlet malls as well located throughout our area, so you're never far away from great deals on unique items!
